Ergonomics for kitchens

Heights for lifting :
Avoid strenuous bending or stretching, by storing the most frequently used items in the middle zone between shoulders and hips. You can store less frequently used items higher up or lower down.

Instead of buying one big, heavy bag of some item, and having to lift it every time you want some, buy the same volume in separate packages, or repack it yourself in manageable portions.

Don't store heavy equipment or heavy kitchen utensils in a place that is too low or difficult to get at.

Don't store heavy goods above shoulder level or below knee height!

If you do have to lift a heavy item from below hip height, keep your back straight and let your legs do the work!
